Based on two-day traffic studies performed in the construction area in January, April and July 2010, the chart above documents traffic speeds and percent of total traffic in each speed range.

Approximately 20% of the vehicles obeyed the speed limit, 31% of the drivers through the area exceeded 40 mph, and in two days almost 6,090 cars exceeded 50 mph!

When one car slows down, the cars behind it are forced to do the same. Starting with one car at a time, we can make the construction zone a much safer place

Two lanes on Woodmen and three lanes on Academy will be open during peak traffic hours. All businesses are open for your patronage. Slow down to 30 mph through the work zone.
